Youth & Family Advisory Board

GUIDE’s Youth & Family Advisory Board (YFAB), supported by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), engages youth, ages 15-23, and parents/guardians of those in these age ranges in providing feedback, input, support and voice to statewide prevention projects across Georgia.

YFAB members are trained through a combination of virtual and in-person events on related and relevant topics including, but not limited to, advocacy, substance use trends, the Strategic Prevention Framework, leadership, communication, teamwork, public speaking and facilitation. Each YFAB member participates regularly on a committee and meets with the group as a whole at least twice per year.
