2025 Suicide Prevention Month Campaign: Conversations for Change

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month! Join us for our brand new Suicide Prevention Month Campaign: Conversations for Change.

The Campaign

This Suicide Prevention Month, we invite you to take a simple but powerful step—starting a conversation. By reaching out to friends, family, coworkers and neighbors, we can open lines of support, break down stigma and remind one another that no one has to face mental health challenges alone. Guided by NAMI’s national theme, “Start the Conversation. Be the Difference,” this campaign encourages each of us to take action—whether it’s offering a listening ear, sharing resources or simply showing we care. Together, we can create a culture of connection, compassion and healing.

How to Participate

Join us in spreading hope and connection this Suicide Prevention Month. Here’s how you can get involved:
  1. Print the poster template.
  2. Write in ideas for whom you can start a conversation with. You are welcome to write in specific names, but you can also be general and just specify who they are in relation to you. Examples include my friend, teammate, neighbor, colleague, etc.
  3. Take a photo with your poster.
  4. Sign our Release Agreement.
  5. Submit your photo and signed Release Agreement through our form to be part of our campaign. We may include it on our social media sites (@guidegti) and/or in a final video that showcases all of our participants.

By sharing who you’ll reach out to, you’re helping show that every conversation matters and that together, we can be the difference.

Entries should be submitted by Friday, September 26 at 11:59 pm.

Campaign Prizes

To celebrate your participation, everyone who submits a photo will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of five $50 Amazon gift cards. Each photo submission counts as one entry, and winners will be selected at random at the end of the campaign. Winners will be emailed and announced on social media on Tuesday, September 30.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month – a time to remember the lives lost to suicide, acknowledge the millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and the many individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by suicide. It’s also a time to raise awareness about suicide prevention and share messages of hope. Learn more about this important cause awareness month via SAMHSA.
