Random Acts of Kindness Day® is Friday, February 17, 2023, and Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 11-17, 2024!
According to the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, “The work to create a kinder world never ends. There is no limit on the amount of goodness we can put into the world, but we need your help! We invite you to join the annual Random Acts of Kindness Day (RAK DAY) celebration on Friday, February 17, 2023 and help #MakeKindnessTheNorm.”
This annual celebration of kindness is especially important to GUIDE, as we strive to provide the resources and tools necessary for our Georgia Teen Institute Youth Action Teams to make Georgia communities a better place. While our main focus is on substance abuse prevention projects, youth leadership is a significant component of our program, and we believe that kindness and small acts of good can be a huge part of this! As we look forward to this important week of action, below are a few ideas for how our Youth Action Teams can celebrate.
Ideas to Celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week with Your Youth Action Team
1. Random Acts of Kindness Foundation offers numerous ideas for small but meaningful acts of kindness that fit into several categories of interest such as animals, community, environment, school and more. They also provide a fantastic printable 2024 Kindness Calendar full of great ideas for celebrating year-round.
2. Kindness provides great project ideas that can be completed by teens and adults alike such as civic acts, community service, online kindness, being kind to yourself and more!
3. Enough is Enough has a “Random Posts of Kindness” campaign designed to encourage individuals to infuse positive messages into online platforms to create spaces for kindness and respect. Participants can share their memes and messages, or this can be used as inspiration for implementing a similar campaign in local schools or communities!
