GTI 2019: The Power of One

Georgia Teen Institute 2019 is in the books!

This year’s theme, The Power of One, theme alluded to the power of “one” in many ways – one group, one community, one organization, one person. We learned that we can change the entire course of our lives by just one action, one decision. During GTI, participants were encouraged to gain an understanding of the significance and power they have to make their community, state and world a better place. Armed with an incredible theme, enthusiastic staff, hundreds of eager participants and a dedication to change Georgia communities, there was no stopping us! By the end of each week, everyone knew that not only did they have the ability to use their power and make a difference as individuals, but also that we are so much stronger as a team.

The abundance of positivity that radiated on Oxford College’s campus throughout each week was truly indicative of something special, that you only find at a place like Georgia Teen Institute, when you bring together young leaders who want to change the world. From Team Meetings to Family Group to General Sessions, the excitement never stopped. Don’t take our word for it; see the magic for yourself in the video below.

If you already miss GTI and want to stay involved, here are three ways you can engage with us right now:

1. Follow us on social media. The TI Love continues year-round when you follow us on FacebookTwitterInstagram or LinkedIn. We post tons of resources for Youth Action Teams, volunteer opportunities, professional development events, highlights of our YAT’s successes throughout the year and so much more!

2. Make plans to serve on staff next year. Our staff members are the reason for the success of GTI year after year. We could not hold our programs without them, and we are always looking for more positive, energetic, drug-free leaders to join us. While staff applications aren’t released until the fall, you can sign up for our mailing list and be notified when applications are released by completing our Staff Interest Form.

3. Become a GUIDE Champion. As soon as one program ends, the work begins to make the next one even better. We are already planning for GTI 2020 and are excited about all of the possibilities! We depend on the generous financial support of donors to help provide the essential prevention programs and activities to the youth we serve. To become a Champion, simply set up a recurring donation of $10 or more per month and designate “Georgia Teen Institute” from the list to ensure your money goes to support GTI.

Thank you to everyone who plays a role in supporting Georgia Teen Institute each year. We could not do it without you!
