Youth Mental Health First Aid

July 12 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. Prior to the course, participants will receive instructions for completing a brief pre-test online.

**GCPS employees who register and complete all course requirements will receive a $150 stipend.**

Lunch is provided. Please share any dietary restrictions in the “special accommodations” field when registering.

As an additional option, our facilitators will offer a FREE 30-minute lunch and learn session (12:15 – 12:45 pm) where participants will be taught how to administer Naloxone (Narcan), a medication to rapidly reverse opioid overdoses. Each participant will receive a free Narcan kit at the end of the training.

Registration will close when our capacity limit of 20 participants has been met or at 12 pm on Monday, July 1 (whichever comes first).
