GUIDE, Inc. is presenting the GUIDE to Wellness Fair on September 17 from 10 am – 2 pm at Lucky Shoals Park in Norcross, GA.
In honor of National Suicide Prevention Month in September, GUIDE and Navigate Recovery will offer QPR (suicide prevention) and Narcan (opioid overdose prevention) information. Pre-registration is encouraged! QPR is a 3-step suicide prevention approach, and Narcan is a medication used for the treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency. This information will be provided to the public to bring education and action to the community on these important topics. Training sessions will be held during the following times:
10:30 – 11:45 am
12:30 – 1:45 pm
These training sessions are identical, and you should only register for one. Registration for these training sessions closes on Friday, September 16 at 5 pm.
Please note: Advance registration is encouraged to attend a training session, but it is not necessary to attend the general health fair.
In addition to training, there will also be several vendors providing information about themselves and their work in the community. The Mental Health Task Force of Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office will host a “Mental Health Walk,” where participants can learn facts about suicide. This event is free and open to all ages! A Kona Ice truck will also be there to provide treats to keep attendees cool!
