Saba Alemayehu joined GUIDE as a Program Coordinator for Positive Youth Development (PYD) in September 2018. Saba’s primary role on the PYD team is to oversee and coordinate the Georgia Afterschool & Youth Development (ASYD) Initiative. In that work, she focuses on strategic planning, management and maintenance of the Georgia ASYD Conference, Trainings and Quality Standards. Saba also supports various PYD events and activities, including workshops and multi-day conferences such as the STEAM Exhibition, Youth Summit and Georgia Teen Institute.
Prior to working for GUIDE, Saba served in the Peace Corps and worked as a gender and youth empowerment specialist in the country of Ethiopia. She designed gender and youth empowerment programs and curricula, implemented gender inclusion trainings and led comprehensive community outreach programs.
Saba holds a Master of Science in International Development, with a focus on Gender and Youth Empowerment, from Cornell University.
